The Clox is an indie pop musical group that formed in Brooklyn, NY in 2007. The group was started by Dennis Orynbekov (vocals and lead guitar), Russel Bay(drums), Igor Reznik (Rhythm Guitar) and Alex Prokofyev (Bass). In Fall of 2009 quartet became a trio when Alex left the group, and Igor Reznik moved from playing rhythm guitar to playing the bass.
Even though currently The Clox is based out of New York City, originally the band got its roots in Kazakhstan in the year 2005, at the time known to its fans as The Escape. Denis Orynbekov, formerly a professional soccer player in his home country, fronted The Escape, as he fronts The Clox today. In the year 2007 Denis quits professional soccer and moves to New York City with the bands drummer, Russell Bay, to pursue music.
In September of 2007, Russel and Denis met rhythm guitarist and Russian songwriter, Igor Reznik. The three found themselves intrigued with each others personality and immediately decided that they wanted to pursue music together and evolve as a whole.
As a three piece band, The Clox works productively to develop not just as a group but as individual musicians.
The Clox always performs, rehearses, and records sober. Nevertheless, the band always gives the audience 100% of their energy.
